About Apache Today
Apache Today is an independent, non-commercial site with practical, tested guides to the Apache HTTP Server and the main Apache open-source projects.
Then and now
From 2000 to 2002 Apache Today was a news site about the Apache web server and open-source web development. Its stories are still linked from thousands of pages. Those old addresses now lead to the current guide on the same subject, or to the story's headline in the news archive. The original articles are not reproduced.
How the guides are written
- Every configuration example is written for Apache httpd 2.4, the current release series, and checked against the official documentation at httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4.
- Version numbers, release dates and security fixes are taken from the projects' own release pages and marked with the month they were checked.
- Each page lists its sources at the bottom. When the official documentation and this site disagree, the official documentation wins.
